A very handsome man gracing the stage
and singing like an angel. You will be missed Mr. Danny Couch
Opening Night for The Luau Show at the Hale Koa.
Hale Koa~Translated means "House of the Warrior"
Danny's opening medley (in video) drew in your attention by incorporating
an original song first written by Danny as one of eight songs for
The '98 Miss Universe Pageant then called
"Hawaii Miss Universe" and now after changes it's "Hawaii, My Paradise"
Laced together with the last stanza of Danny's recent recording
"Somewhere" off of his Cd "Something To Remember."
Danny exuding his "strong message" to all the visitors to Hawaii
as he took you into the "Powerful Show" to come..
The opening of the New Luau Garden at the Hale Koa
The new facility has five Hales (houses) reflecting the standard that had been set in the entertainment offered here.
Danny's talent drew in the crouds the past years and this stage provided the possibility of
a new high quality state of the art sound system along with lighting
that best could've supported his performances.
The covered portion provided weather protection for most of the audience,
the open air section has a sky view.
Altogether it can seat 900
and has been sold out since Danny's opening night!
It's the first "Outdoor Luau Showroom of it's type in Waikiki."
The pre-show ceremony at the Imu still took place beyond the covered seating section.
And was a gathering spot for all to enjoy the pre-show and music provided.
The scent of the Kalua Pork
enhanced your appetite for the full fare to follow.
Dinner was served you at your table, which consisted of
The traditional luau menu lomi lomi salmon, cucumbers with papaya,
kalua pig, teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken, mahi mahi, fresh fruits,
pineapple, haupia, coconut cake
and of course..poi
Danny took his place on his new stage for the first time, June 2. His final appearance was December 29.
His pre show was always a time to watch for Danny
as he was about to introduce us to what's coming, food and otherwise, also welcoming his guests.
As the sun falls into the Pacific and the music rises from the stage.
Or those people special to Danny at this opening luau.
Then again everyone is special at his shows. He insures you are!
He always takes the time to acknowledge friends.
Those of us friends that do websites got a special treat.
Sweetly as ever but with the new sound system Danny sang even sweeter.
(as if that's possible)
Never tiring of bringing us this song! Which we all love.
That Danny manages to touch our hearts with, along with his charisma
that's always there,
You will be missed.
Is always among the favorites
and Danny made sure his audience was more than pleased.
To all of those who crave some attention.
Killer smile...
that relates to his guests and friends.
It says, "How did you like that one?"
Was a knockout! songs were beyond compare!
Atmosphere always very romantic and after all we're in Hawaii!!! Isn't that what we expect?
On stage,
Our recent Hoku and Hawaii Music Award Winner
Danny Couch did what he does so well. We will just have to follow our favorite singer, to his new venues
Kaniela (Hawaiian for Daniel/Danny)
is the fabulous new Fire-knife Dancer. He has made a world of difference to the show.
He sets your Aloha Spirit on fire.
A wonderful addition to Danny's Luau Show
(received a standing Ovation this night)
Always requested and always sung with heart and soul.
This time Our Ali'is has a gorgeous new Ali'is Coat!
Danny says it's a touch of the "Matrix Look!"~~ Dashing!
After hearing the oh's and ah's
as well as the comments in the audience,
I think don't think it's a temporary fixture. Do You? Danny will dazzel again in the near future.
But he exudes a mighty presence...
With his pentrating voice in the night.
Might be a "former Ali'is" but in our hearts we will always consider him as one.
The True Ali'is of the Luau. ~A Hui Hou~
