     My intentions for this site originated by the fact that my love for music in general was affected by a handsome stranger who took the microphone one Christmas Eve at a Karaoke Night at the Hale Koa. He picked up the microphone, pushed the music aside, and sang  (A cappella) the most beautiful and moving rendition of "Oh Holy Night" I had ever heard.  To this day I am still moved each time I hear it. When hearing another artist sing it, my thoughts wander to how much more beautiful it is when Danny sings it! Going to Hawaii during the Holidays is not complete without hearing Danny sing this mele at least once! A voice had never moved me like that before, nor has it had the impact of this musical introduction. Now we have a collection of some of the most beautiful Christmas Carols sung by our favorite singer. 

      A special message Aloha from our friend Mildred Bergman. "I've never forgotten the night at the Moana when we were almost the only ones left with Ginny Tiu at the piano in the Banyan Court. Just for us she played Oh Holy Night and Danny sang it with full fall on your knees. Where did all the people come from? They flooded back to listen, and suddenly it was Christmas." Thus the impact of this beautiful voice.

Christmas in Hawaii is a feeling in the air, more intense day after day, and someone who takes in every exciting moment is Danny Couch. Silver bells? He rings them! Christmas trees? He decorates! Against a back wall in a restaurant, we were at a table for half a dozen of us when he hummed, "I just love Christmas!" You know those eyes. Like waiting for Santa Claus. Between bites, he's actually humming a melody in a snatch of chestnuts roasting or something, audible only in our little corner until, so quietly he starts Oh Holy Night. As we stopped everything to listen, other conversations, too, were pausing, and he couldn't help it. 'Fall On Your Knees' was full voice, and a whole restaurant silenced

for a Christmas event of deep reverence. At the end, no one spoke~ It was Christmas.
For years, Christmas time has made him want to make an album of music for the holiday, and listen to what he has done on a CD that will live on for Christmas everywhere in our hearts.

In the final “An Evening at the Tropics” concert of 2005, the Hilton Hawaiian Village presented a powerful lineup of Na Kama, Danny Couch and Jasmine Trias. The concert took place on Thursday, December 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the hotel's Tropics Showroom.

“Danny is a longtime favorite of ours here at the Hilton, and we are privileged and honored to welcome him back to help us close out the year of our very successful free concerts,” said Noel G. Trainor, general manager, Hilton Hawaiian Village.
In partnership with KUMU radio, “An Evening at the Tropics” is part of the Hilton’s commitment to celebrating Hawaii’s culture and music through performances by the islands’ top musicians at its Tropics Showroom. The concert series enjoyed a successful debut in September with performances by Maunalua, Henry Kapono and Makana. The concerts are free and open to the public; cocktails and pupu are available for purchase. The concerts are broadcast on KUMU radio, (94.7 FM) locally, and available through streaming audio on http://www.breezeofhawaii.com  on the Saturday following the concert starting at noon Hawaii time (5 p.m. EST).
